What is Photography?

Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating images by recording light, either electronically through an image sensor or chemically using light-sensitive materials like photographic film.

What are the key responsibilities of a Photographer?

A photographer engages with clients and colleagues to determine project specifications and creative vision, using both technical skills and artistic insight to capture compelling photographs that tell a story and meet client needs. They direct shoots by arranging models, objects, lighting, and backgrounds according to project requirements, and enhance image quality through editing methods and software like Adobe Photoshop.

Photographers are responsible for properly using and maintaining their cameras, lenses, lighting, and other technical equipment, while also maintaining a database of archived images for future use. Staying updated with the latest photographic best practices and industry trends is essential, as is developing an aesthetically pleasing portfolio that showcases their best work to attract clients. Effective interaction with clients, models, and other professionals ensures they understand needs, provide updates, and deliver high-quality results.
